Daniel T. McGinnity

About the event:

Dan’s Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day 5k fun run named in memory of Daniel T. McGinnity and organized by the Midway Elementary community. Dan helped organize an impromptu North Side Turkey Trot in 2015 that drew approximately 50 participants. He was a local father, husband, son, brother and friend who tragically lost his life on July 28th, 2016. The event was made official in his honor in 2016.

We continue this event in Dan’s memory to remind us all to stay active, think positively and to give back to our community!  Every year, all proceeds are used to benefit a specific non-profit organization in the community.  In the past, we have given to Midway PTO and Second Harvest Food Bank.  In 2021, we will be giving all proceeds to the Mead Education Foundation to fund Teacher Grants.
